The Elders
Charity / Not for Profit
The Club of Rome is an organisation of individuals who share a common concern for the future of humanity and strive to make a difference. Its members are notable scientists, economists, business people, high level civil servants and former heads of state from around the world.
The organisation has, for decades, published limited numbers of highly influential reports to help promote understanding of the global challenges facing humanity and to propose solutions through scientific analysis, communication and advocacy. Historically, their reports have received considerable worldwide attention: Their most famous book ‘The Limits to Growth’ published in 1972, first presented the concept that the earth’s interlocking resources probably cannot support present rates of economic and population growth.
We designed two of the Club of Rome’s more recent reports: The Club of Rome Climate Emergency Plan: A Collaborative Call for Climate Action’, published in 2018, and ‘Planetary Emergency Plan: Securing a New Deal for People, Nature and Climate’ published in 2019.
Our brief for the reports was to visually represent the climate issues we currently face. We achieved this with an eye-catching layout, clear and compelling cover illustrations, iconography and imagery - creating a distinctive style for each individual report.
